The Secret City

The Secret City by Chris Archer

When I think of a good book I like, I think of The Secret City by Chris Archer, book 1 in the PAYATES series.

In The Secret City the main character is George. First, George finds a map up in his attic that leads to a secret underground cave in the basement of his house. George does not tell his dad about it and keeps a secret with his friend. Shannon goes to get some gear from her friend to go down into the cave. But her suspicions got raised because it was the middle of winter. So Shannon was forced to tell her about the cave. This shows that George and his friends are going to explore the cave without telling his dad. What mysteries will George and his friends find in the cave.

I like this book because it has so much action and mysteries you can’t put the book down until you finish it. Just like how George and his friends find  people LIVING UNDER GROUND!!! I also like when the characters work together when they need help. They would never leave one person behind even if their life was in danger.

In conclusion, I think if you like action and mystery and if you are in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade you should read this exciting mystery book.
