Who Was Neil Armstrong ?
Who was Neil Armstrong, by Roberta Edwards describes the timeline of Neil Armstrong traveling to the moon and back to the earth. This book is non fiction.
In Neil Armstrong’s childhood he loved planes. In fact, when he was just a toddler, he watched an air show in Cleveland, Ohio. He took his first plane ride when he was only six on the Tin Goose, which was a famous airplane! When Neil was in his teens, he worked part time at a bakery and mowed the cemetery lawn for flying lessons. Neil was fifteen when he got his first flying license, but he was still too young to drive. When he grew up, Neil flew in the Apollo 11 when he was going to the moon.
This book was down right amazing!! I would highly recommend it.It was fun to see all the places that Neil trained in. It is a good read for ages 8 to 10 years old. Kids younger than 8 would like to get the book read to themselves because there are a lot of tricky words. I would recommend this book for boys. The grades I would recommend this book for third through fifth because older kids would finish the book in a day or two. This book, I would give four and a half stars because it was only one hundred pages.
This book teaches you the timeline of Neil Armstrong getting to the moon and back to the earth. When he stepped on the moon he planted the American flag. Sadly, Neil Armstrong died at the age of 82 in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 25, 2012. Neil has a saying,’’ One step for man, one giant leap for mankind.’’
