It’s not Christmas without Grandma and Grandpa.The One and only Maryellen by Valire Tripp is a must read.This book is based on August-December of 1954.In this story a nine year girl named Maryellen has lots of ups and downs in her Florida life. One of the many is christmas. Since she lives in florida Maryellen does not get a tv christmas,so she takes a train all by herself to see her grandma and grandpa. But when she gets there on christmas eve she feels home sick. Her grandparents start to drive her to florida that night.Will they make it home in time for christmas.This is a favorite of mine.I recommend this for ages 8 and up.

A Story of One Amazing Class

            “Seven kids, one class, and one amazing teacher.”

This quote came from the book “Because of mr.terupt”. Seven kids named Danielle, Peter, Alexia, Jeffery, Anna, Jessica, Luke, and last but not least Mr. Terupt, these people make up a class in 5th grade. These remarkable characters main spend the school year in the class and in the hospital.

These kids have to suffer because when snow started to fall, the seven kids were told that they could play outside by Mr. Terupt. One kid threw a snowball, which was the biggest mistake of his life, he put Mr. Terupt in a… coma.

These kids did not only have to suffer Mr. Terupts coma-problem but have to suffer their own problems. All seven kids solve their bullying problems and somehow solve their parents problems.

I feel that the author tried to tell you that bullying does not solve anything, and that not always to rely on teachers or parents to solve problems for you. The author is trying to say YOU can fix your own problems, and to help others with their own problems (sometimes) to help find a solution.

I really like this book because every night my dad would say  “Lights out!”  While I was still reading the book. So I would turn off the lights but, take out a flashlight and keep reading! This shows that it is impossible to put this book down until you know what happens to not only Mr.Terupt, but you start to really wonder what is going to happen to the kids!

If you ever want to find out what happens to Mr.Terupt and the kids, go to a public library or bookstore  (or order online) “Because of Mr.Terupt”

The main characters of the the book is bad kitty and the owner. The main problem of the book is when the owner is trying to give bad kitty a bath.Until the owner got bad kitty in to the bath. In the book kitty was hissing and was not in a good mood after she got out of the bath,and the thing to solve the problem was to hide from the owner. When the owner found kitty he was going to pet bad kitty but bad kitty hissed at the owner. It was because she was mad at the owner. After that the owner was going to pick up bad kitty. Kitty did not want the owner to pick her up but the owner pick bad kitty up. Then when the owner picked up bad kitty clawed the owner.

August has some issues with his face.But his mom and his dad keep talking about agust going to middle school because he is homeschooled by his mother.But August Declines the invitation he has some second thoughts.

Now that August has accepted the offer to his school he goes on one big school tour!He meets some new people such as MR.Tushman,Mrs.Garcia,Jack,Charlotte,and Julian. August is learning more about everybody by the minute!

I like Wonder by R.D Policia and I recommend it to others because I want everybody to Know what it is like to be different. Also I want people to know that looks do not matter and that you can always make new friends.

In the beginning, four kids find they have a special gift which is a spirit animal.A spirit animal is a creature that gets called up with the nectar  of nani. They are all trying to get Arax’s the great rams talisman which enables people to become very strong, agile, fast and powerful.

 In the middle, the four kids unite to get Arax’s talisman.While Zerif is following them. They distract Zerif, and Abeke grakes the talisman, and then jumps away from Arax and Zerif.

In the end the four kids bring the talisman back to Sunset Tower which is the base.Then they head to the next book.

In Conclusion,Brandon Mull is the author of one of my favorite books Wild born.

   The book Endurance is interesting, a little scary, and exciting, This is why I always want to keep reading it.

   Ernest Shackleton and his group try to cross Antarctica,, but their ship gets stuck in the ice and falls apart. After they get out of their ship,they’re stuck on a dangerous frozen ocean and all they have is tents, dog pemmican, and small boats.The ocean melts and now their stuck in boats and getting whipped around by currents and winds. Even if they make to Elephant Island or Clarence Island what will they do?

   The author of this book wants the reader to know that you’re not going to get anywhere if you give up, you have to find a way to do it. In Endurance, if the group just gave up they would die.

I really enjoy this book because it’s nonfiction and it’s very long so you have a lot to read! I would tell anyone to read this book if they like history.

“You are a disappointment” said Maleficent to her  daughter Mal. This is a quote from  The Isle of the Lost. Once I started this book i couldn’t stop! These four villains Maleficent, Cruella De Vil, Evil Queen, and Jafar now have kids. Mal daughter of Maleficent, the evilest, Carlos son of Cruella De Vil the smartest, Evie daughter of Evil Queen the pretty one, and Jay son of Jafar the clever one all set out on a mission, (to get the dragons eye)! When it came to this part I couldn’t stop reading!

These four are stuck in the isle of the lost!Their own island just for villains with no magic. Because of the dome they can’t get out! They have to go on a mission to look for the dragon's eye (because of Carlos's machine that shot a hole through the dome some magic came from Oradon. The dragon's eye sparked to life!) This author is my hero and is awesome!

All the villain’s kids have to work together to find the dragon’s eye will they proceed? I couldn’t stop reading this book, it’s one of the best books I have ever read and I think that everyone should read it!

I think that Melissa De La Cruz is trying to tell the readers that even if someone is mean or a bully they can always change their personality and work together! You shouldn’t be afraid of that person, stand up for yourself and try to be their friend! (Maybe something happened to them so they want others to feel bad.)

I LOVE this book because it’s like history it is the villain’s kids and what they want in their life and what they want to do. This book is a little advanced so I would recommend readers 8 years old and up. This book has such descriptive words, you can picture all of the images it’s like a picture book!

Spacewalker is a great book in many ways. Jerry Ross wrote this book t0 teach everybody to follow their dreams.

“Everyone is smart in different ways. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, then it will spend its life thinking that it’s stupid.” That was a quote from one of my all time favorite books, Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt.

This inspiring book takes place in a normal school. Ally, the main character can’t read well. None of her teachers understand her and she has been to a lot of different schools. Shay and Jessica are like the “mean and popular girls” of the class, they are always saying mean things to people, especially Ally. Deep down she is a creative, kind kid but no one can see that side of her.

Later, Ally meets Mr. Daniels, her new teacher. Mr. Daniels seems to understand her and thinks she is very smart. He sees the fun, creative, smart Ally. Ally finds new friends, courages Keisha and fact loving Albert. Her new friends help her through hard times. Sometime later, she figures out she has dyslexia so she can’t read, but can learn.

“This book is absolutely wonderful! I wish I could put it in the hands of every kid who’s ever worried about school. You’ll love Ally, you’ll worry with her and you’ll cheer her on hoping she’ll triumph over a seemingly insurmountable obstacle.” That was an amazing review by Patricia Reilly Giff, and I completely agree with her. Some days I would try to put this book down but then in my mind I would say, “just another chapter”. After like five more chapters I would finally put the book down. I have already read this book around four times and wouldn’t mind reading it again! I think every kid should read this book.

Linda, a fifth grade girl gets teased at school by Tracy, Wendy,Jill and caroline.She gets teased because she is fat. Jill had to make a decision: should she stop making fun of Linda and lose all of her friends or should she keep making fun of Linda and feel bad.

I feel that the author of this book, Judy Blume is trying to tell readers “bullying is not right”

I really liked this book because it gives you an idea of what bullying is.I would highly recommend this  book to 9 and up. Throughout the book I asked myself”what’s going to happen next?” Get the book Blubber to learn more.

I Survived the Attacks of Sept 11, 2001

I Will Survive

“Crash there goes one plane into the tower, sirens filling the air, Lucas stopped running, hearing the screams and seeing the smoke from the building terrorise people.”  This statement is from I Survived the Attacks of September 11, 2001 by Lauren Tarishis shows why I never stopped reading it.

The main characters are eleven-year-old Lucas and his Uncle Benny. Lucas left hishome in Manhattan to talk to his Uncle Benny about not playing football. He was walking to the fire department (where Uncle Benny works) in New York City. Then it hit the first plane, hit one of the twin towers. People screaming and running in horror,sirens filling the air. Lucas was looking for for Uncle Benny everywhere but… he couldn’t find him.

I feel the author of I Survived the Attacks of Septemper 11, 2001 by Lauren Tarishis, is trying to tell the readers “ if you believe that you can help someone or something you can do it.”

I really like the I Survived series especily this one because at the end of the book the author tells why and how she wrote the book. Also, I said it kept me wanting to read till I found out what happened to Lucas.
