Auggie & Me
by R.J Palacio
Be KIND, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle, is the quote that starts off the book by Ian Maclaren. I believe is the perfect quote to summarize the book.
It was a nice summer day, Julian was curious who his mom was talking to, after the phone call he found out he was going to meet a new kid that was going to Beecher Prep this year, Auggie Pullman. It started off well but ended off with Julian being mean on the tour. Julian had nightmares because Auggie Pullman but why did that mean he shouldn’t be nice to Auggie?
Julian went to France for his summer trip. When he got there he was fine, but when he hears a story about how his grandma was ignoring this boy who actually after her being mean saved her from the war, he had a big decision. Julian had to decide to sue the school because he had nightmares and wrote mean notes or be nice to Auggie?
I like Auggie & Me by R.J. Pacalio because it has people’s different point of view. I can’t put this book down at night. I think the author is telling us to be kind no matter who it is or how it looks. I like this book because this does happen often and the thing we should do is be kind. I would recommend this book to people that love Wonder. If you haven’t read Wonder read it and then read this, it will keep you entertained for hours and hours.
