Because of Mr. Terupt

A Story of One Amazing Class
Image result for because of mr.terupt book

“Seven kids, one class, and one amazing teacher.”
This quote came from the book “Because of mr.terupt”. Seven kids named Danielle, Peter, Alexia, Jeffery, Anna, Jessica, Luke, and last but not least Mr. Terupt, these people make up a class in 5th grade. These remarkable characters main spend the school year in the class and in the hospital.

These kids have to suffer because when snow started to fall, the seven kids were told that they could play outside by Mr. Terupt. One kid threw a snowball, which was the biggest mistake of his life, he put Mr. Terupt in a… coma.

These kids did not only have to suffer Mr. Terupts coma-problem but have to suffer their own problems. All seven kids solve their bullying problems and somehow solve their parents problems.
I feel that the author tried to tell you that bullying does not solve anything, and that not always to rely on teachers or parents to solve problems for you. The author is trying to say YOU can fix your own problems, and to help others with their own problems (sometimes) to help find a solution.

I really like this book because every night my dad would say  “Lights out!”  While I was still reading the book. So I would turn off the lights but, take out a flashlight and keep reading! This shows that it is impossible to put this book down until you know what happens to not only Mr.Terupt, but you start to really wonder what is going to happen to the kids!

If you ever want to find out what happens to Mr.Terupt and the kids, go to a public library or bookstore  (or order online) “Because of Mr.Terupt”

Fish in a Tree

Fish in a Tree
By Josie Abramson
“Everyone is smart in different ways. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, then it will spend its life thinking that it’s stupid.” That was a quote from one of my all time favorite books, Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt.

This inspiring book takes place in a normal school. Ally, the main character can’t read well. None of her teachers understand her and she has been to a lot of different schools. Shay and Jessica are like the “mean and popular girls” of the class, they are always saying mean things to people, especially Ally. Deep down she is a creative, kind kid but no one can see that side of her.

Later, Ally meets Mr. Daniels, her new teacher. Mr. Daniels seems to understand her and thinks she is very smart. He sees the fun, creative, smart Ally. Ally finds new friends, courages Keisha and fact loving Albert. Her new friends help her through hard times. Sometime later, she figures out she has dyslexia so she can’t read, but can learn.

“This book is absolutely wonderful! I wish I could put it in the hands of every kid who’s ever worried about school. You’ll love Ally, you’ll worry with her and you’ll cheer her on hoping she’ll triumph over a seemingly insurmountable obstacle.” That was an amazing review by Patricia Reilly Giff, and I completely agree with her. Some days I would try to put this book down but then in my mind I would say, “just another chapter”. After like five more chapters I would finally put the book down. I have already read this book around four times and wouldn’t mind reading it again! I think every kid should read this book.

Blubber

Blubber by Judy Blume

“Blubber is a good name for her.” Wendy says on the note to Linda. A quote from Blubber by Judy Blume. It makes you feel all kinds of different emotions!

Linda, a fifth grade girl gets teased at school by Tracy, Wendy,Jill and caroline. She gets teased because she is fat. Jill had to make a decision: should she stop making fun of Linda and lose all of her friends or should she keep making fun of Linda and feel bad.

I feel that the author of this book, Judy Blume is trying to tell readers “bullying is not right”

I really liked this book because it gives you an idea of what bullying is.I would highly recommend this  book to 9 and up. Throughout the book I asked myself”what’s going to happen next?” Get the book Blubber to learn more.

Auggie & Me

Auggie & Me
by R.J Palacio

Be KIND, for everyone you  meet is fighting a hard battle, is the quote that starts off the book by Ian Maclaren. I believe is the perfect quote to summarize the book.

It was a nice summer day, Julian was curious who his mom was talking to, after the phone call he found out he was going to meet a new kid that was going to Beecher Prep this year, Auggie Pullman. It started off well but ended off with Julian being mean on the tour. Julian had nightmares because Auggie Pullman but why did that mean he shouldn’t be nice to Auggie?
Julian went to France for his summer trip. When he got there he was fine, but when he hears a story about how his grandma was ignoring this boy who actually after her being mean saved her from the war, he had a big decision. Julian had to decide to sue the school because he had nightmares and wrote mean notes or be nice to Auggie?

I like Auggie & Me by R.J. Pacalio because it has people’s different point of view. I can’t put this book down at night. I think the author is telling us to be kind no matter who it is or how it looks. I like this book because this does happen often and the thing we should do is be kind. I would recommend this book to people that love Wonder. If you haven’t read Wonder read it and then read this, it will keep you entertained for hours and hours.

The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault In Our Stars
By John Green, the #1 author in my world
Review by, the #1 book blogger, The Luisa Dorigo and Her Teammate Jadyn Hawkins

The #1 character in the book The Fault In Our Stars (main character) is the Hazel Grace and-her-I-can't-ruin-it-for-you-because-the-book-is-really-good-person Agustus Waters. Hazel is a very intelligent, severely funny (and I mean it, I don't lie (most of the time)) teenager with cancer. This may be a down-putter because the first part was really good, but trust me, I have read this book about 1,000,000 times, when you read the book, her cancer does not make this story depressing, it just makes it sad at times, but again, read it because it is a really good, good, really good book (and while you are at it why not just read all the other John Green books, just saying!) Agustus is a complicated, sweet, funny character that you will find out about if you read the book. The only problem is both Hazel and Agustus are sick, with cancer. Will they survive? Only the book knows.

The book FRINDLE is mostly about a boy named Nick that makes up a word called frindle it means pen. Ms.Granger his teacher acts like she hates the word so she keeps kids in at lunch for saying it. After a while it got popular kids intentionally started saying it so they could stay in a lunch .Eventually it got old but the kids did not stop so Ms.Granger started putting the word pen at the top of the spelling test and the kids put frindle so she marked it wrong. Wonder

Wonder
by R.J. Palacio

First, Wonders main character is August (auggie). He has to face his fear of going to a school because he is deformed. He also does not like a lot of kids at his school like Julian the biggest jerk in the whole world. August becomes friends with a kid named Jack and a girl named Summer. Together, they live through the whole middle school experience. I really love this book because it has so many different points of view like Jack’s, Summer’s and many more. Wonder is a very shy kid with a sense of humor. He is deformed and has two friends, a sister, a dad, and a mom. I hope that you can read this book Wonder.

Wonder

Jackson Van Horn
Wonder

First, the main character is August (auggie) is deformed and starts going to school and gets a tour of the school with three other kids: Jack, Julian, Charlotte. The one kid, julian, is the biggest mean face ever. I like this book because it tells you what it is like to be deformed. The main character is the most cool person in the whole world because he stood up for people and started a new school he had never been to a real school. Also, when he joined school he was that weird kid but then he became the nice kid and most people liked him.

Wonder

            WONDER

Harrison L-S

The book, Wonder by R.J Palicio, is a story about a boy with birth defects and he tries to fit in with the ordinary kids.
August Pullman tries to fit in and everyone thinks he is a freak. If someone touches August, they run screaming. August faces a class bully who hates him and always calls him a freak. When August hears his best friend calling him a freak, he runs away crying.
In my opinion, wonder is a sad story and has really sad and violent parts.(It is mostly sad.) I think this book should be for ages 9 and up because of the sadness.
This book is fun to read and it is one of the best books ever. I highly recommend Wonder the story of an extraordinary boy.
