Island of the blue dolphins is a great book. It is about a girl that is in a tribe and her father is the chief. Her father dies and they have to find a new chief. Then she gets stuck all by her self on an island and she learns to survive.

I would recommend this book for 8 to any age. I would not recommend this book for younger kids because it is a little sad.

I like this book because in the story the girl is very creative. She makes her own skirt and she picks her own weeds for food.
